BAM 10th Anniversary Vinyl + Pocket Tshirt + Hood + Cap

Founded in 2015, BAD APPLES MUSIC has evolved into a record label and cultural incubator of artistic excellence - one of the only labels of it’s kind amplifying emerging and established Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.

Across the last decade, Bad Apples Music has nurtured and celebrated the careers of artists including BARKAA, Alice Skye, Kobie Dee, Nooky, BIRDZ, Philly and more; while label founder BRIGGS and the wider team have continued to elevate and push Bad Apples Music further into industry spaces that historically would have been closed to them.

“I set out to change the landscape and by that measure we’ve been successful. Never on our own but always at the front. A decade of more than music.” - BRIGGS

To mark the tenth anniversary of Bad Apples Music and the legacy they continue to create, a special limited edition vinyl release has been announced, featuring tracks from BAM artists and bespoke cover art by incredibly talented artists.

The compilation project highlights moments of music heat, delivered by some of Australia’s most important performers.

Five covers have been commissioned for this release by the below artists, as well as covers featuring a new Bad Apples Music logo for a new chapter, and a special artist collage:

Thea Anamara Perkins: an Arrernte and Kalkadoon artist, whose practice incorporates portraiture and landscape in questioning representations of First Nations peoples and Country.

Tony Albert: a Girramay, Yidindji, Kuku Yalanji man and one of Australia’s foremost contemporary artists, with a longstanding interest in the culture misrepresentation of Aboriginal people; his multidisciplinary practice considers the ways in which optimism might be used to overcome adversity.

Aretha Brown: a Gumbayngirr artist, screenwriter and cultural advocate whose multidisciplinary practice reclaims Aboriginal historiography through a visually striking, politically driven, and culturally future-facing lens.

100 copies of each cover have been pressed.
